Epic Fail of the Day: Atlanta Footlocker’s Burglarized before Space Jam Release

Dec 23rd, 20098 Comments

You probably saw 1 pic floating around Twitter or the blogs but now the full story has been released. So apparently some people wanted the Air Jordan Space Jam’s so bad that they decided to pull a smash and grab caper on two Footlocker stores in my area. The robbery plot itself is the stupidest thing ever but what really makes this the epic fail of the day is THEY DIDN’T MANAGE TO GET EVEN 1 PAIR OF SPACE JAMS! Now if that isn’t the dumbest shit of today I don’t what is lol .

Early this morning, two southwest Atlanta Foot Locker’s were burglarized within a half hour of each other – one at the Campbellton Road location, and the second at Metropolitan Parkway. A group of six people smashed through the metal doors and gates at both spots by driving a van through the front entrance and stuffing shoe boxes into the vehicle and driving off. Whether the timed grab was planned in part for the taking of today’s launch in the “Space Jam” Air Jordan XI’s is unknown, but a Foot Locker employee at the Campbellton Road store has stated that the robbers did not make away with any of their allotment of “Space Jams” and that their stock was sold to waiting customers this morning. Continue reading for more photos from two smashed-and-grabbed Atlanta Foot Locker’s.

Props to CK for the full details.

Wow. WTF? I’ve never heard of someone robbing a shoe store.

@jay3091 this is 2009…with the economy the way it is…people have no jobs…and shoes that are very nice looking come out and people want them and that $175 price tag is too much…thats what happens. its sad though that your robbing a man who worked to buy his shoes so you can wear them and brag when people ask about them…knowing you were too broke to afford them…
its 2009 and people still wanna act ignorant…smh and they wonder why we get discriminated against

That whole justification sounds iffy though.

      Their sneakers.

      • Mikey Que says:

Did you just say, “The economy is bad. People want sneakers, so they’re going to rob shoe stores.” That entire rationalization process was ridiculous… but I’m going to assume you’re some child anyway, so I’ll let it slide.

        • Mikey Que says:

And by the way, we know it’s 2009… but your exclamation of the year was really pointless… because whether some one did this last year, or this year, it would still be stupid.
