A little over a week ago we gave you a snippet of this track but Wasalu finally released the full version today via radio. I’m not with the radio rips all the time so I waited until the cd quality version became available and for now it’s the clean version. Lupe’s #Lasers album has no release date in sight but he’s already moving on dropping this track that will be on Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album.

Lupe just dropped off this new teaser on his Twitter account. Is he trying to tell us something? No word on what this if for or where it’s from, you’ll have to wait on Lupe to clear that up tomorrow hopefully. At least he’s making an effort to get the fans something…

Lupe Speaks on The Petition & Situation with Atlantic

Lupe Fiasco called up to MTV to briefly discuss the petition for the release of the LASERS album and his situation with Atlantic. Lupe was the topic of just about everyone’s conversation online on Monday after he went on a huge rant responding to his former producer/friend Prolyfic’s rant.

I don’t think the label cares about an album,” Lupe assessed. “I don’t think n—as care. People just want their number-one record. They don’t care about the rest of the album. I was talking to an engineer the other day and he said, ‘These n—as don’t even care about mixing an album no more.’ They just want the first three songs. Three singles. They get them, one, two, three, they don’t care what’s on the rest of the album. I know this for sure. I’ve seen it. You can’t blame them because of the attention span of the game and the attention span of music, how fast things are going. You only got them one, two, three shots. I’m not no fool. I’m looking at it like ‘Yeah, you’re right.’

At this point I’m just tired of hearing about this whole debacle. Hopefully, if the album does drop it’s well worth all this hoopla surrounding it.

On Blast: Lupe’s Former Producer Calls Him Out On Twitter

Lupe’s former Producer/Friend took to Twitter to express his disappointment in Lupe’s music and career moves. Apparently Prolyfic was there in the beginning of Lupe’s career and saw it all as it unfolded. He offered his full opinion on why his #LASERS album isn’t being released and stands up for the fans of Lupe saying that if he does more they wouldn’t have to petition.

I’m sure some of the die hard Lupe fans might be upset by this but I’m sure Prolyfic has some valid points in this. I remember even feeling some type of way myself after Lupe reneged on that “Friend of the People” mixtape. Then he basically told the fans to get over it. When Janelle Monáe got together with her label mates B.o.B. & Lupe Fiasco there was instant musical chemistry. You can tell she fed off of their energy and decided to do a little rapping on this remix rather than just sing, the outcome….excellence. While I was watching the video I realized another reason why this was dope to me, it reminded me of the Fugees a little. Not the song or melody but just the concept of a male/female hip-hop group. We haven’t seen the likes of that since Ms. Hill disappeared from the spotlight to handle her motherly duties. I definitely think these 3 could work as a group while still maintaining their solo careers. Am I reaching?

P.S.: Don’t dare mention Black Eyed Peas (no disrespect).

You know that #1 hit song that B.o.B hit the top of all the charts with? Yeah that was originally intended for Lupe Fiasco. For whatever reason Lupe decided to give it up or pass on, something I know he regrets although I doubt he’s the type of guy to admit it.
Luckily for us, just like most of Lupe’s stuff, it leaked online. He’s really gotta tighten up that camp. It could be that he leaked this one himself, we’ll know if there isn’t any emotional online rant within the next few days. So who do you think did the song more justice?
